So Real Madrid Fight for Bayern Munich, How is Antonio Rudiger's Attitude?

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger responded to rumors linking him to a number of top European clubs, from Real Madrid, PSG, to Bayern Munich.

This season Rudiger is trusted to appear in seven matches by Thomas Tuchel, including in the European Super Cup party against Villarreal last August.

Rudiger did play a big part in Chelsea's brilliant performance earlier this season, including when he contributed one goal in the win over Tottenham last weekend.

Antonio Rudiger's Response

Rudiger's brilliant performance since Tuchel's Chelsea has made the 28-year-old defender the target of several top European clubs.

After Real Madrid and PSG, the latest Bayern is also claimed to be attracted to Rudiger. However, the German national team player confirmed that until now he had not spoken to other clubs.

"For me, this will now be the most important decision of my professional career. I haven't spoken to any other club besides Chelsea," Rudiger told Sky Sport Germany.

Claim Rio Ferdinand

Recently, Ferdinand via his YouTube channel claimed that Rudiger was the best central defender in the Premier League this season which has been running for five weeks.

"Since Tuchel came in, I think he is arguably the best centre-back. I think he and [Ruben] Dias will be very close but the effect he has on his team is huge."

"Under Frank [Lampard], it's proven he's not the first choice. He didn't really like it. There are rumors that they are trying to put it on the market for sale."

"In Germany he is always very cared for. But when the manager doesn't judge you and you can feel it, I don't care who you are, your confidence will be crushed and it will be difficult to perform."

Antonio Rudiger stats

Ferdinand's claim could be unfounded if you look at the statistics shown by Rudiger in the Premier League this season, as quoted by The Sun.

Rudiger has 'only' made five successful tackles, 13 fewer than Rudiger's teammate and Chelsea captain, Cesar Azpiliueta.

In addition, Rudiger has also recorded 'only' nine aerial duels, compared to 27 times recorded by Brighton's Shane Duffy.

Rudiger's Inferior Note

Other statistics show that Duffy has cleared 29 times and clears with the head 23, far better than Rudiger's 'only' 16 and eight.

Rudiger has recorded just one block in the Premier League, six fewer than team-mate Thiago Silva and Manchester City defender Ruben Dias.

In terms of interceptions, Rudiger 'only' did three times, far from Michael Keane who has recorded 16 interceptions.
