Jack Miller reveals the results of spying on Honda

Ducati's Jack Miller has revealed his findings after scouting Honda's motorcycle during a MotoGP test at Misano earlier this week.

Jack Miller was caught on camera watching a Honda RC213V motorcycle being set up by technicians before taking to the track.

The Australian racer really looked closely to see what the difference was with the Ducati Desmosedici GP bike.

However, Jack Miller admitted he didn't find much because he couldn't take a closer look. So it is difficult to compare it with his motorcycle.

"Actually, I only saw the old bikes, because their newest bikes are tightly sealed," Miller said as reported by Speedweek.

"I just saw how their bike looks like. Like what changes were made and is there any special treatment on the tires. It was a rainy morning, so I didn't have much to do.

"I don't really see their new bike on the track, what you can clearly see is that their seats are very similar to ours. Or look the same as the motor used today.

"I think they are working hard on the basic setting area of the bike."

The rainy conditions made not many racers go down to the track, it made the mechanics just warm up the motorbike engine so that it was ready at any time when they wanted to use it.
"A lot of things we tested in the tests, there was something prepared for this season and also something projected for next year," he said.

“I can't do much recon for you guys right now, but some things are really good. There are some things we still have to work on.

“That's how these things work. From the first impression, the feeling was good. We certainly have to take a few more steps, but I think we've found the right direction. There will be further developments in this area in the future.”

Jack Miller recognizes the Ducati bike is not the best on the track and still lacks in some areas, although the last two races have looked strong.

However, Miller hopes his team can find a solution to make the bike run better.

"The area we are working on is still the same, we are always trying to find better grip and acceleration," said the 26-year-old rider.

"So we worked hard on the setup, tried some different suspension adjustments and stuff like that.

“Overall, the test this time was very positive, my rhythm was really good too. I was able to do many laps in a row. Understand how the motor reacts.

“We will have some new components to use in Austin. I think that's a good thing.”
